Call the gas company. The natural gas meter at my new place was leaking around the regulator and at another small fitting.
That awful smelling odorizer that providers mix in with the gas flow definitely served its purpose. I am also thankful for the tech that wasn’t even on-call but chose to come out anyways.

Speaking of using the smell to tell if there’s an emergency...
Our neighbor rerouted his gas exhaust right next to our backyard (before we bought the place, I should add). Don’t know if there’s a leak or he’s just taking a shower. The gas company and the city say there’s nothing they can do about it, as it’s technically to code.
Probably gonna build a wall.

When I moved into my newly renovated apt I smelled gas every time I turned on the gas range...like too much gas. Had the super check it out, he said “it’s fine” called him again and told him it’s not fine. Handy man came to look at it and saw that whoever installed the stove hadn’t sealed the hose threads, so gas was leaking out...very glad I persisted.
